Is QRZen really free?
Yes. The QR code generator is free and unlimited, with no signup required and no watermark on your codes. You can download as many PNGs and SVGs as you like. The free plan also lets you save up to 5 codes to a dashboard. Pro is optional and only adds dynamic codes and scan analytics.
Do the QR codes expire?
Static QR codes generated on QRZen never expire. The link is encoded directly into the image file you download — there is nothing on our servers that can be turned off. The PNG or SVG will keep working long after we are gone. Dynamic codes (Pro) keep working as long as your subscription is active, because they route through a short URL we host.
What is a dynamic QR code?
A dynamic QR code points to a short URL we manage, which then redirects to your real destination. That means you can change where it goes — even after the code is printed on a poster, business card, or product — without ever reprinting. You also get scan analytics: how many people scanned, where, and when.
Can I use QRZen codes commercially?
Yes. Codes you generate on QRZen — free or Pro — are yours to use however you like, including on commercial products, packaging, signage, marketing materials, and client work. No attribution required.
PNG or SVG — which should I download?
Download SVG when the code will be printed, resized, or embedded in design software like Figma or Illustrator. SVG is vector, so it stays sharp at any size. Download PNG when you need a quick raster image for a website, slide deck, email signature, or social post.
Do I need to sign up to generate a QR code?
No. The generator works without an account — type or paste your link, then download. Creating a free account is only useful if you want to save codes to a dashboard so you can find them later.
Will QRZen track or store my links?
Static codes are generated entirely in your browser, so the link you encode never leaves your device. We do not log it. If you choose to save a code to your account, it is stored on your dashboard and visible only to you.
Can I add a logo or change colors?
Today QRZen ships with a calm default palette tuned for high contrast and reliable scanning. Logo overlays and custom colors are on the roadmap for Pro — drop us a note if that is the feature you want next.
